Students may earn tickets for exhibiting good behavior. As adults, we don’t get rewarded for doing our job, so students won’t get rewarded for every little thing they do. However, periodically, I will give out tickets for good individual behavior, AR, turning in homework, good lunchroom/restroom behavior, etc. The tickets are placed in a canister and two names are drawn each Friday. The more tickets in the canister, the better chance of winning.

Teams can also earn paws for good behavior. If all students in the team are following directions, staying focused, and completing work, then a paw is given. At the end of the school day, the winning team can select a goody from the treat jar.
Class Behavior Chart (For individual behavior)
I have a chart in my classroom which goes from Blue to Purple. Students have numbered clothes pins and when a rule is broken, their numbered clothes pin is moved to the next color. If they exhibit “SUPER” behavior, then their clothes pin can be moved up to BLUE. The stages are as follows:
- Blue-Super Behavior
- Green-OK
- Yellow-Warning
- Orange-Lost of a privilege (Silent Lunch, etc)
- Red-Time-Out (Self-Reflection Sheet & Call Home)
- Purple-Office
School rules will apply the first day of school. Fifth graders should know how to behave and why they are in school. They need to be good role models from day one.
